Green Bay Packers second-year pass rusher Lukas Van Ness suffered a painful injury during voluntary OTAs that caused him to miss Wednesday’s practice. At this point in the offseason, the Packers have few players dealing with injuries.
The Green Bay Packers have several injuries

Zach Tom and Tucker Kraft are battling pec injuries from lifting weights, so they will miss OTAs this spring. They hope to be back at some point in training camp. Tom and Kraft joined head coach Matt LaFleur as victims of the Packers’ bench press this offseason.
The Packers also had veterans missing the voluntary workout. During his press conference, Lafleur joked that Rashan Gary, Elgton Jenkins, and Preston Smith missed practice Wednesday because they were upset with their head coach.
Lukas Van Ness broke the tip of his thumb

LaFleur also explained why Van Ness missed. According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, LaFleur said Van Ness broke the tip of his thumb:
“[Van Ness] broke his thumb a little bit. Just the tip,” LaFleur said.
It’s unclear when Van Ness will return

LaFleur didn’t specify when the Packers expect Van Ness to return. One would assume it shouldn’t affect much of his offseason, and certainly not training camp. Van Ness might have to wrap up his affected tip until it heals, but he should be able to play football in Week 1 of the regular season.
Still, the tip of a thumb is an unfortunate place to have a bone break. That area of the hand makes a lot of contact with other objects. Hopefully, Van Ness won’t touch too many surfaces with his tip before he fully heals.
