Former Green Bay Packers wide receivers have done pretty well in finding new teams this offseason. A former member of the team recently signed with an AFC contender. That conference is swimming in pass-catching talent from Green Bay. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are in that conference with the New York Jets.

Shepherd will now have a chance to catch passes from another elite quarterback in Justin Herbert. The Chargers are expected to be a contender in the AFC West this season. It could be interesting if Shepherd makes the roster for the Chargers matchup in Week 9 against the Jets, where he could play his former teammates.
Per WSH Media files, Shepherd was gaining interest from the Detroit Lions last month. They chose not to sign him. Shepherd had an impressive XFL season in 2023:
“Shepherd had a productive campaign in the XFL this season as he earned XFL Special Teams Player of the Year. He caught 48 passes for 519 yards and recorded six touchdowns for the BattleHawks offense.”
