DK Metcalf’s name has been rumored to be on the trade market ever since the 2022 off-season began. There have been no real claims (outside of rumors) to him being open for trade… until now. According to Bleacher Report multiple league executives believe that Seattle would be willing to part with Metcalf for the right price:

What would the “right price” look like?
After Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill were traded in the same off-season the trade value for premium wide receivers is at an all-time high. Many big-name wide receivers are entering their “contract year” and are looking for a big pay day either this year or the 2023 off-season. Those names include DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, and AJ Brown. However if any team wants to pull the trigger on names like these, it may have to look something like this:
Team trading for star wide receiver gives up:
- 1st round pick
- 2nd round pick
- possible later round pick(s)
- a commitment to a long term expensive contract
Team trading away star wide receiver gives up:
- Star wide receiver
- gains future cap space
The two teams that have been linked to trading for DK Metcalf all off-season has been Green Bay and the New York Jets. Both teams are in search for a WR #1 of the future. Green Bay was willing and able to pay Davante Adams the $28,000,000 he wanted per year. If Green Bay sees Metcalf as a guy who can help win a Super Bowl during Aaron Rodgers’ window it would make sense to pull the trigger. They have the second most draft picks (11) in the league for this years’ draft and 4 in the top 60. Seattle is in full rebuild mode and draft picks are exactly what they are looking for. Not long term expensive contracts to non-wide receiver players.
