Kurt Benkert and the XFL
Benkert was linked to the XFL earlier in the offseason, but at the time he said it may not be the right decision for him. Benkert has a large social media following and creates a variety of content on his social channels. He will be making his return to football for the Brahmas.
The San Antonio Brahmas currently have three quarterbacks on their roster. The starting quarterback is former Badger Jack Coan. He was at the University of Wisconsin for four years before transferring to Notre Dame. Benkert finds himself behind Coan on the depth chart.
The San Antonio Brahmas are 1-4 and could be looking to shake things up at quarterback. They have five games left in the regular season and there is a chance Benkert could see some time on the field.
Kurt Benkert’s NFL Career
Benkert spent time on the Green Bay Packers practice squad and spent time as a backup as well. He also spent time in 2022 with the San Francisco 49ers. Most of Benkert’s game action has come in the preseason. The XFL is full of players looking for a shot to showcase their talent. He will now join the Brahmas, coached by Hines Ward.
