The Middleton Process
Khris Middleton was never supposed to be this good. In fact, as the 39th pick in 2012, Middleton went to the Detroit Pistons. Where as a rookie, he played in just 27 games and looked like a back end of the bench type player at most.
Then in 2013 Middleton was thrown in as part of the Brandon Jennings trade to Detroit and end up with the Bucks. Where since that day he has continued to work and develop into now being the number 2 option and 3x NBA All-Star (2019, 2020, 2021). But, it took a long time for the media and fans outside of Milwaukee to take notice. Well has Middleton quietly became a top 15 NBA player? I rank the top 20 NBA players below…
Top 4- The Best Four
1. Lebron James- Sorry but not sorry James like Brady in the NFL has beaten Father Time at least for now. And no matter if you like him or not he is still the best on the planet.
2. Giannis Antetokoumpo- Back to Back MVP winner here and right back at it again this year it’s hard to find someone not name James ahead here.
3. Kevin Durant
4. Steph Curry- Flip 3 and 4 as much as you want they are the two scariest scorers in the league right now. Curry can hit anywhere from inside the gym while Durant is the most prolific 3 level scorer ever.
5-10 The Next Guys
5. Luka Doncic
6. Anthony Davis
7. Kwahi Leonard- The “Klaw” is a two time champion who has dominated with defense, effort plays and being able to get the tough baskets.
8. Dame Lillard
9. Nikola Jokic- The best true center in the NBA, Jokic not only can score he’s a great facilitator as well.
10. James Harden- Simply put, Harden is one of the best offensive players in the game. But his defense physically and the willingness to play any has him at 10.
11-20 They Are Still Really Really Good
11. Joel Embiid- Embiid has all the tools, the size, and the floor spacing shooting to be a top 10 player. But like a good movie with a bad ending, he has us hooked but wanting more. His inability to be consistent and healthy is a concern.
12. Bradley Beal- Unfortunately for Beal, he hasn’t had a team around him to help win games much less be relevant come playoffs. Frustrating for sure Beal is still one of the best scorers in the league.
13.Khris Middleton- Middleton is 50/40/90 player who is the Bucks best in the clutch. He slowly and quietly has been proving doubters wrong. Now making his third All-Star game in a row there should be no questions if Middleton belongs.
14.Jayson Tatum
15. Jimmy Butler
16. Kyrie Irving
17.Devin Booker- It feels like Booker was a consistent team and coach away from moving up the rankings and he might finally have that. Under the veteran leadership of CP3 and being on a good team has the spot light on Booker more. And he’s thriving in it.
18. Donovan Mitchell
19.Damontas Sabonis- One of the best all around big men in the league. Sabonis plays with a rare intensity for the hustle plays. Such toughness has helped Sabonis lead the Pacers into a dark horse contender in the East.
20. Zach Lavine
There are so many talented player in today’s league. And Khris Middleton is one of them and fans and media are starting to recognize it.
