With the Packers holding a slim lead in the second quarter, the defense looked to make another huge play. Rashan Gary sacked Taylor Heinicke and caused a fumble. Rasul Douglas scooped it up and scored a touchdown. However, it was called back due to a questionable penalty on Eric Stokes. The call was defensive holding, but it wasn’t definitive. A former Packer had some thoughts on that penalty. Kevin King responded to the weak penalty on Eric Stokes.
Kevin King Responds To Weak Penalty On Eric Stokes
Noooooooooo , you cant call that!!!! It aint the db fault if the reciever do a weak ass double move, he wasnt beat at all thats strapped!

Kevin King had some thoughts on the call. He called the double move “weak” and that Stokes “wasn’t beat at all”. If you watch the replay, there is no question that there is contact. However, it does not seem that Stokes impedes the receiver at all. The offensive player even seems to initiate contact with Stokes. Regardless, the refs stuck with the call and it took a Packers defensive touchdown off the board. Stokes was visibly frustrated with the call and Kevin King shared the frustration.
Kevin King Not The Only Former Packer To Chime In
Kevin King was not the only former Packer to chime in about the weak penalty on Stokes. Tramon Williams also thought that Stokes played with great technique.
That was perfect technique from Stokes

He states it very clearly. “That was perfect technique from Stokes.” With many calls, you can see what the player did and where the refs came from. Fans and analysts are struggling to find what Stokes could have done better in that situation. It seems that many former Packer cornerbacks Kevin King and Tramon Williams thought that the refs should have picked up the flag and let the play stand as called.
The refs have certainly not been fantastic in the opening half. Even when they get calls correct, they take seven years to make them. Hopefully, the defense can keep the pressure up and consequently shut down the Commanders in the second half.
