Keston Hiura is off to a spectacular start to the 2023 MiLB season.  Despite being designated for assignment in March by the Milwaukee Brewers and going unclaimed on waivers, he is excelling with the Nashville Sounds.  The Sounds have announced that he has won back-to-back player of the week awards to begin the year.

To begin the 2023 MiLB season Keston Hiura has won back-to-back player of the week awards.

As highlighted in the above graphic, Keston Hiura had four home runs last week.  Two of those long balls came off of left-handed pitchers.  On the season he now has six home runs.

Here are all four of Keston Hiura’s home runs from last week.

It’s great to see Keston Hiura excelling in Nashville.  Historically he has always performed well in the minor leagues and this year has been no different so far.  In addition to this his strikeout rate is currently improving for on the season he has struck out 14 times in 49 plate appearances.  This equates to a 28.5% strikeout rate.
