Kam Jones and the rest of the Marquettte Golden Eagles are in some sort of struggle after they suffered their third straight loss, all against teams that are inside the Top 5 of the Big East conference.

Coach Shaka Smart’s squad were tripped, 67-77, by the Creighton Bluejays who are going hot right now with their nine straight wins.

Jones poured his heart out as usual, putting the national media on notice with his 27 points, four rebounds, and six assists in 37 minutes. His scoring partner David Joplin also played well with 22 points and eight rebounds.

However, their efforts were not enough as they had a hard time getting past the Bluejays’ defense, led by center Ryan Kalkbrenner who had four blocks. Steven Ashworth and Jamiya Neal had a total of 11 assists together to disrupt the flow of the offense of their visiting opponents.

Creighton head coach Greg McDermott even utilized Kalkbrenner to guard Golden Eagles’ guards to deny them from setting the tempo.

Kam Jones not thinking about the losses too much

Fans speculate that the Golden Eagles have already reached their peak this season with their great December and January run.

Before the three straight losses, they recorded seven straight wins.

For team superstar Kam Jones, there’s not much to overthink after the loss to Creighton. They are not panicking and any talks about their struggle is just coming from the outside.

“It’s just about how you look at it,” Jones said. “Three straight losses, that perspective is more of a fan perspective.”

He also insisted that they are not getting held up by the past and instead taking everything one game at a time.

“We’re just going out there and trying to win every game. Whatever game we’re playing, that’s the game we’re focusing on. We don’t care about what has happened, we want to affect what is happening now.”
