Jrue Holiday is having a career year. While his defense has always been elite, he has exploded on the offensive side of the ball. He has been an essential piece of the team, especially as Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo deal with nagging injuries. As part of his contract, Holiday has received a massive bonus because of how many games he has played this season.
Jrue Holiday Receives Massive Bonus
Holiday’s four-year contract has around $25 million in incentives. The games played incentive netted him $331,000 dollars. He has played in 67 games this season with 65 of those being starts. This year could be a very lucrative year for Holiday as he has reportedly reached the milestones for rebounds and assists which would give him almost a million dollars in incentives for the season. That is before any awards are given out. Holiday is probably a shoo-in for an All-Defensive team and there is some talk of him sneaking into an All-NBA team. This could add more incentives on the year for Holiday.

Games Played Is An Accomplishment In Today’s NBA
It seems silly to reward someone for simply playing games. However, in today’s NBA it is something to be rewarded. The era of load management means that many players barely play 60 games. Obviously, some of the missed games are due to injury but a lot of players simply take games off for rest. For Holiday to play in almost 70 games is unheard of for a star player in the modern NBA.
I really hope that Jrue Holiday gets even more of a massive bonus. He has been one of the best players this season and deserves some recognition for it. The Milwaukee Bucks have secured the number one seed in the conference and are looking for another NBA championship. I’m sure Holiday would trade all the individual awards for a chance to life the Larry O’Brien trophy once again.
