Jordan Love Gets Brutally Honest About His Future In Green Bay

Jordan Love has had tumultuous first two years in the NFL.  He was drafted into an opportunity that not many get in this league.  Sitting behind a future Hall of Fame quarterback for multiple seasons affords a player to learn many things.  However, sometimes it also comes with uncertainty and heartbreak.  That is what Jordan Love may be experiencing right now.  Since Love was drafted he has witnessed Aaron Rodgers win back to back MVPs and sign a $150M dollar extension.  He was recently asked about his current situation in Green Bay:

    Jordan Love’s Remarks:

“I can’t control what’s going on, I have no idea what might happen,” Love said via the Wisconsin State Journal. “So rather than stressing about things that might happen, things that might not happen, I’m just here right now. I’ll take what I’m given and run with it.”

“I definitely think I’m maxing out all the reps,” Love said. “Even the reps where I’m like, ‘Ah, man. I wish I had done this, I wish I had done that,’ I get to go back on film, watch it and just be able to learn. You learn more from your mistakes than from your successes. So to be able to have that time to grow and learn, I think, is huge.

“What it comes down to is, I’m always confident in myself, but it’s about being a lot more comfortable, relaxed, and being able to process things a lot faster. And that all ties into it. I definitely feel very confident in myself right now.”

“I am human. And that stuff’s going to be there, regardless,” he said. “But I think I do a pretty good job at compartmentalizing it. I don’t even want to think about that stuff.”

What Does Jordan Love’s Future Look Like?

Can Jordan Love be “the guy” in Green Bay one day?
Aaron Rodgers has made it clear that retirement is on his mind.   After “The Match” Aaron Rodgers was discussing his future in the league and had this to say:
“When you commit, you’re 100 percent,” Rodgers said. “But the older you get, the interests change, and the grind, I think, wears on you a little more. . . . The football part is the easy part. That’s the joy. It’s the other stuff that wears on you and makes you think about life after football. Tommy obviously set the bar so high with playing so many years, but I can definitely see the end coming.”
That end statement is telling, “I can Definitely see the end coming.”  Could this be Aaron Rodgers’ last year in Green Bay?  Could Jordan Love get his real opportunity after the 2022 season?  If Green Bay wins the Super Bowl in 2022-23 would that entice Rodgers even more to retire?  The Packers’ front office (and quite frankly all Packers fans) will have all season to think about this.  If the Packers want to exercise Jordan Love’s fifth year option, they’ll need to do so after this season.
