Marquette basketball is trending up as Joe Lunardi has them high in his latest Bracketology
The Marquette Golden Eagles took care of business in the Big East Championship on Saturday, taking down Xavier to capture the title. Not only are the champions of the Big East but Marquette has put themselves in a very favorable position for the NCAA Tournament.
Going into the Big East Tournament, Marquette was anywhere from a No. 3 to No. 4 seed. And now with the win, they have moved up.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his final Bracketology and Marquette has been rewarded. Lunardi has the Golden Eagles as a No. 2 seed and the No. 8 team in the entire tournament.

The job that Shaka Smart has done with this team is pretty damn good. He has them set up to make a run in this NCAA Tournament and if they get this seeding, it will certainly help.
Lunardi is by no means the final say in this but it does give us a look at where one ‘expert’ thinks they could land when the field is released later on Sunday. Let’s hope he’s right and the Golden Eagles can make a run.
