Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just before the 2025 season began.  It was a move that very few people actually expected Green Bay to be able to pull off.

Throughout his first season in Green Bay Parsons has one again showed why he is one of the best in the business.  However, an ACL tear against the Denver Broncos ended his 5th season early.  After being asked about the injury, Jones had some things to say.

Jerry Jones showed compassion for his former star linebacker following Parsons’ devastating ACL tear, that ended his 2025 season.

On Tuesday, during his weekly appearance on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan, Jones directly addressed the injury just two days after it occurred:

“I’m sad for Micah. That’s quite a challenge. I wish him the very best on his recovery… Micah, I wish you the very best.”[¹]

Jones referenced Hall of Famer Michael Irvin’s past injury recovery as inspiration, noting how facing a career-threatening setback motivated Irvin to reach new heights.

    Background on Micah Parsons’ Injury

Parsons, traded to the Packers in a blockbuster deal just before the 2025 season (in exchange for two first-round picks and DT Kenny Clark), suffered a non-contact ACL tear in his left knee during Week 15 against the Denver Broncos.

He was chasing QB Bo Nix when his knee buckled. An MRI later confirmed the ACL tear.  Players on the field immediately took a knee, including Denver’s Patrick Surtain II.  Surtain and Parsons go way back, and you could tell the injury hit home.

Before the injury, Parsons was dominating with 12.5 sacks (tied for third in NFL), 26 QB hits, and elite pressure numbers, putting him on track for another All-Pro season.

    Micah Parsons’ Response

Parsons posted an inspirational message on social media shortly after the confirmation:

“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated. This injury is my greatest test — a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony… I trust His timing, His plan, and His purpose. I will rise again.”

He thanked the Packers organization and fans for their support.
