The Green Bay Packers are one game away from making the playoffs. A win against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night punches a ticket to the postseason for the resurging Packers.
Making the playoffs seemed like an improbable task a month ago. Through 12 games, the Packers had a rather unimpressive 4-8 record after starting the season 3-1. Green Bay was at their lowest point after their Week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The loss marked their fifth in a row, and Aaron Rodgers left the game with a rib injury. Battling back when it mattered most, they now find themselves in the midst of a four-game winning streak. A fifth win in a row would complete an improbable comeback.
Former Packers wide receiver James Jones not only thinks Green Bay will make the playoffs, but he also believes they can make a deep run in the postseason.
Packers Will Make The Super Bowl According To James Jones
James Jones knows what it takes to reach the Super Bowl. He was a member of the Packers when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. Over a decade has passed since that game. Much has changed, however the quarterback has stayed the same.
Jones believes his former team can duplicate the success they had during their last Super Bowl run.
“Everbody’s in trouble after we beat the Lions and get in the playoffs. Nobody’s safe. I’m not going to be surprised if we are sitting where I live, in Arizona, talking Green Bay Packers verses I don’t know who, for the Super Bowl,” Jones said.
If the Packers do make the playoffs this season, they would be a wild card team. When Green Bay won their last Super Bowl in 2011, they were also a wild card team.
It’s still a little too early for the Packers to be thinking about the Super Bowl, considering they haven’t even made the playoffs yet. However, a Super Bowl win would be a true storybook ending to what has been a wild 2022 season.
