On Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers were dominated by the Philadelphia Eagles’ rushing attack. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Miles Sanders caused the most problems for Green Bay.
Both Hurts and Sanders finished the game with over 130 rushing yards each. This is the first time in franchise history that the Eagles have had two players with 130+ rushing yards in the same game.
Jalen Hurts and Eagles Rushing Attack Have Historic Day vs Packers
In total, the Philadelphia Eagles rushed for 363 yards against the Packers, which is their most since 1948. However, of those 363 yards, 300 of them came from Hurts and Sanders.
Hurts finished the game with 17 carries for 157 yards. Sanders rushed the ball 22 times for 143 yards and found the endzone twice. With his two touchdowns on Sunday, Sanders now has eight on the year, a career-high.
In addition, Hurts had 153 passing yards and finished the game with two touchdowns through the air. With his performance on Sunday night, Hurts became the first player in NFL history to throw and rush for 150+ yards and throw two or more touchdowns in a regular season game.
Green Bay’s next game is against the Chicago Bears. If Bears quarterback Justin Fields is cleared to play, the Packers will be facing another dangerous scrambling QB. Fields is listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury.
Nevertheless, Fields currently holds the NFL record for most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback with 178, which he set this season in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins.
This will be the Packers’ second game against the Bears this season. Green Bay beat Chicago 27-10 in Week 2 and are looking to sweep the season series.
