The 2022 season has been one of defensive struggles for the Green Bay Packers. That has not, however, stopped Jaire Alexander from being confident in himself and his team. The Los Angeles Rams are coming to cold Lambeau Field on Monday night, hoping to build off of their miracle win against the Raiders last week. In that game, new Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield led the Rams 98 yards in the final minutes of the game to secure the win. As great as the comeback was, Mayfield was not perfect all game. In fact, Alexander believes that the Packers will be able to dominate on defense.
The Packers Have Gotten to Mayfield Before
Mayfield, of course, is playing on his third team in less than a year. Last season, with the Cleveland Browns, Mayfield threw four interceptions on Christmas Day against the Packers. Nearly one year later, he is coming back to frigid Lambeau with the Rams. Alexander had a awfully bold prediction for the game when he spoke with the media after practice on Saturday. “I think with the right game plan and preparation, we should get like seven interceptions,” he said. “You know? That’s how I feel.”
Jaire Alexander has already set a career-high this season with four interceptions. He was season-ending injured reserve last season for the Christmas Day game.
