The 2026 MLB season is still several months away, but former Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins appears to be ready to give it a go with his new team.
The 28-year-old Collins is now with the Kansas City Royals following a trade from Milwaukee to the American League Central Division club. Along with Collins, the Brewers also sent pitcher Nick Mears in exchange for pitcher Angel Zerpa.
“Ready to get to work for KC,” Collins wrote in a social media post on Instagram.

Collins is coming off his first full season in the big leagues. He hit .263/.368/.411 with a 118 OPS+ in 130 games and 441 plate appearances in 2025. He hit nine home runs and recorded 54 RBIs, while also swiping 16 bags on his way to finishing fourth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.

With the Royals, Collins will look to build on his 2025 performance and get even better as a player in the majors.
“At this point, we felt like this was a very good move for us considering our needs,” Royals general manager J.J. Picollo said of the trade for Collins (via Anne Rogers of MLB.com). “The need for on-base, the need for an outfielder. Adding a switch-hitter to our roster, and then Isaac’s positional versatility is very attractive when you combine that with the number of years of control.
“We know right now that the outfield is the primary spot he’s going to play, but it never hurts to have a player that has been in other positions and done well in other positions. We feel like there’s a lot of upside to this and some safety at the same time. It helps you manage your roster well.”
