This afternoon, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur took the podium and gave an update on the team. LaFleur spoke for a while about the captains, the voting process, and how the captains were decided. The Packers coach also praised the team, and said there are so many leaders it is difficult to choose.
Matt LaFleur also gave an injury update about multiple Packers starters. Some players look eager to go, but others may have to wait a bit longer.

According to LaFleur, Allen Lazard and David Bakhtiari did not practice today, which isn’t a great sign for the Packers. Sunday could be in doubt for both players. There is a lot that can happen between now and then, so it’s definitely not out of the question that they play.
After practice, LaFleur gave reporters an insight into the exact status of each player. He stated that lineman Elgton Jenkins and David Bakhtiari are both questionable for Sunday. Along with that, wide receiver Allen Lazard is listed as doubtful for the game. It seems very unlikely Lazard plays at this point, but again, who knows. There is still time for everyone to potentially play. LaFleur also didn’t want to rule anyone out yet, which is a promising sign.
Per Matt LaFleur, Elgton Jenkins David Bakhtiari are questionable for Sunday’s #Packers game vs Minnesota and Allen Lazard is doubtful. Robert Tonyan will be a go.

The biggest news LaFleur delivered during his time in front of reporters involved tight end Robert Tonyan. The 28-year old is coming off of an ACL tear and has spent much of the off-season with Will Compton. However, he has made strides in his recovery lately, and he will be good to go Sunday. It is unclear how much the Packers plan on using him, or if he is on a snap count, but anytime he steps onto the field it benefits the team.
While not everyone is back, yet, these are reassuring signs. The vital anchors of the Packers are almost back, and then the team will feel back to normal again. The Vikings are no joke with their new-look team. Again, it is Week 1, nobody fully knows, but the history of the players they have serves them well. On paper, they are scary, and the Packers could use all their players. Hopefully everyone is back to full health soon!
