Only 88 days until Packers football kicks off! Previously, I’ve predicted the outcome of weeks 1-4 and 5-8. Here are my predictions for weeks 9-12! (And please remember, a lot can and will change between now and September 11th.)
Week 9: @ Detroit
Result: Win
Detroit will be better this year than they were last year. Even so, the Packers should still win this game. Green Bay hasn’t played great at Ford Field as of late, but their sheer talent should outshine Detroit’s. I have the Packers coming off of a loss at Buffalo the previous week, so I think they’ll be extra motivated to not lose two in a row, especially to an inferior division opponent.
Week 10: vs. Dallas
Result: Win
Welcome back to Lambeau Field, Mike McCarthy! I think this will be a big test for the Packers. Both Dallas and Green Bay won their respective divisions in 2021. This game will feature two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott. It wouldn’t surprise me if this game has major playoff implications, as both teams compete in the NFC. I think the Packers gut out a gritty, high scoring game.
Week 11: vs. Tennessee
Result: Win
This is going to be another huge test for the Packers. Thankfully, Green Bay has home field advantage. The Packers defense will have to lock Derrick Henry down to win this game. As long as they’re healthy at this point in the season, I think they should win this game.
Week 12: @ Philadelphia
Result: Win
Like the Dallas game, this matchup will probably have significant NFC playoff implications. Philly earned a wild card berth last season. Will they improve upon their 2021 playoff season, or take a step back? I don’t like that this game is in Philadelphia on Sunday night; Eagles fans are known for their extreme intensity. I think this will be a very close game, but I believe the Packers can squeak this game out.
Predicted record after 12 weeks: 9-3
After 12 weeks, I have Green Bay sitting at 9-3, firmly in the race for a division title. In addition, if they finish the season strong, they could very well be looking at the number one seed in the NFC. Go Pack Go!
