Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter seem to make a living talking about Aaron Rodgers during the off-season. The 2023 off-season marks the third in a row that the two have drummed up a number of rumors about the four-time MVP quarterback. As it turns out, Rapoport and Schefter aren’t too aware of what is going on with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers made it clear that he has no personal issues with either reporter, but rather with their reporting on his life.
“I have no problems with Ian Rapoport, Schefter, I think they’re really good at their jobs,” Rodgers said. “When it comes to me they don’t know s—. They don’t have people in my inner circle that are sources. I can promise you that.”
Once Rapoport heard this, he responded to Rodgers’ claims.
Ian Rapoport Claps Back At Aaron Rodgers Comments
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has responded to shots fired by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers earlier this week.
“I’ve never minded being in the crosshairs of anyone, especially when it’s just because of me doing my job,” Rapoport explained during Thursday’s edition of the WFAN “Tiki and Tierney” program, per Logan Mullen of Audacy. “So, I put the info out there, Rodgers can react however he wants to react. I don’t take offense. If I see him, I would not be angry. To me, this is all part of it. Like, I say something and then people are allowed to react. Rodgers has never been shy about speaking his mind, so to me it’s all fine.”
It seems as though Ian Rapoport is taking Aaron Rodgers’ comments in stride. Rapoport is no stranger to players calling him out for false reporting.
Packers Are Open To Trading Aaron Rodgers If He Come Back
The Packers are open to working with Rodgers to facilitate a trade. For salary cap reasons, Aaron Rodgers would need to be open to reworking his contract. The Packers, however, are not planning to let his massive three-year $150 million contract, stand in his way.
Rodgers signed that three-year, $150.815 million restructured deal with the Packers last offseason. He has a $58.3 million signing bonus for 2023 and a cap hit of $31.6 million. His signing bonus has already been spread out until 2026. Several teams have reportedly inquired about Rodgers’ availability already. The Packers have told them they are not yet ready to engage in trade discussions, but the door obviously is not closed.
