The Green Bay Packers have not had tight end Luke Musgrave since Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season. He injured his ankle against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. In Week 5, Musgrave suited up, but he didn’t play a single down in the game.
Ever since that moment, the Packers decided to place him on injured reserve. Luke Musgrave needed surgery on his ankle. It will be interesting to see when he will return to the field.
Green Bay Packers Luke Musgrave Returns To Practice On Wednesday
As the Packers prepare for the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, Musgrave returned to practice on Wednesday. He only did individual drills and most likely will not be ready for the game on Sunday against Seattle. After that, it will be interesting to see when Musgrave will return to the field.
This season, he has only caught five passes for 22 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 4.4 yards per reception. Musgrave has been targeted seven times. With the former Oregon State Beavers tight end being out for most of the season, Tucker Kraft has done a tremendous job taking over as the number one tight end on the Packers roster.
Musgrave Not Clear When He Will Return
On Wednesday, Musgrave spoke to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky about when he will return to game action during the 2024 NFL season. Luke Musgrave said:
“I think it’s as soon as practical. I don’t know if there’s a timeline, but as soon as possible that they’ll let me go, I’ll go.”
It would be a surprise if he did not come back at all this season for Green Bay. Having Musgrave back at some point will help out this offense. Many thought at the beginning of the season that he and Tucker Kraft were going to be a two-headed monster at tight end. Quarterback Jordan Love will have another target to rely upon in this offense once he returns to the game field.
