    Hunter Renfroe ties for most HRs from #6 spot in batting order in 2022

    Hunter Renfroe finished the 2022 season with the third-most home runs (29) on the Brewers behind Rowdy Tellez (35) and Willy Adames (31).

    Renfroe hit his 29 home runs from five different spots in the Brewers batting order last season. He hit 12 from the fourth spot in the lineup, 11 from the 6th spot, four from the fifth spot, and one each from the third and seventh spots in the lineup.

    His 11 home runs from the sixth spot in the batting order was tied for the most in the majors in 2022. Renfroe tied for the top spot with Matt Chapman (Toronto) and Trevor Story (Boston).

    Here are the MLB players in 2022 who hit the most home runs from each of the nine batting positions in the order.

    #1: Kyle Schwarber, Philadelphia, 38
    #2: Aaron Judge, New York Yankees, 47
    #3: Jose Ramirez, Cleveland, 29
    #4: Pete Alonso, New York Mets, 40
    #5: Kyle Tucker, Houston, 18
    #6: Hunter Renfroe, Milwaukee; Matt Chapman, Toronto; Trevor Story, Boston, each 11
    #7: Matt Chapman, Toronto, 12
    #8: Cal Raleigh, Seattle, 9
    #9: Martin Maldonado, Houston, 15

    One other Brewers’ player finished in the Top 3 of this unique home run stat in 2022. Shortstop Willy Adames had 29 home runs from the second spot in the batting order. That was good enough for third in the majors last year behind Aaron Judge (47) and Mike Trout (37).

    Following are the HR leaders for the Brewers in 2022 from each of the nine batting order spots.

    #3: Rowdy Tellez, 19
    #4: Hunter Renfroe, 12
    #5: Rowdy Tellez, 11
    #6: Hunter Renfroe, 11
    #7: Tyrone Taylor, 6
    #8: Keston Hiura, 3
    #9: Tyrone Taylor, 7

    One last note: Adames’ 29 HRs from the second spot in the order for the Brewers in 2022 is the second-most in a season for the team. Christian Yelich had 36 home runs from the second spot in the batting order for the Brewers in 2019.
