Eric Lauer continued his dominance to start the 2022 and the Brewers hit two home runs to give him some late run support. Along the way, Hunter Renfroe reached a big career milestone. Most importantly, the Milwaukee Brewers improved to 25-14 and maintained a four-game lead in the NL Central.
Eric Lauer: Cy Young Candidate?
Do not be surprised if Eric Lauer gets some Cy Young attention this season. The Brewers lefty threw seven innings of shutout ball, allowing just five hits and striking out five. Lauer improved to 4-1 on the season and has an ERA of 2.16 and WHIP of 0.94. He also leads the National League in strikeouts per nine innings with 11.7.
Devin Williams and Aaron Ashby combined for two more shutout innings to complete the win for the Brewers.
Hunter Renfroe: 500-Hit Milestone
Hunter Renfroe went 3-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. He also walked once. His second hit on the night was his 500th career hit.

Later on in the eighth inning, Renfore delivered a two-RBI single to give the Brewers a bigger cushion.

Rowdy Tellez and Tyrone Taylor Hit Home Runs
Rowdy Tellez has been mashing all year, and he continued by getting the Brewers on the board first with a sixth-inning blast.

Tellez was 2-4 on the night with two RBI and two runs scored. On the season, Tellez is hitting .244/.313/.527 with nine home runs and 32 RBI.
