One Packers player had a pretty good birthday month
Becoming a star in the NFL is one way for a person to reach financial independence. That dream is a hard one to attain. It takes hard work and being fortunate to be born with particular physical abilities most people don’t have. Most NFL players don’t last long in the league and will eventually have to find a way to make money in another industry. One Packers player recently found another way to increase their wealth outside of the gridiron.
Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari found a way to add a few more million to his portfolio during his birthday month. Bakhtiari, who signed a $105.5 million extension with the Packers in 2020, recently put up his California home for sale in August. According to the LA Times, Bakhtiari reportedly bought the 7,113 square foot home for $3.9 million in 2020.
Bakhtiari found a buyer quickly
According to James McClain with real estate new website Dirt.com, Bakhtiari was able to sell the home for approximately $6.2 million to make a tidy profit.
Records reveal the buyer is Angelica Nwandu, founder and owner of The Shade Room, a majorly successful internet-focused media company the New York Times has called the “TMZ of Instagram.”
The lofty sale price means Bakhtiari walked with a $2.3 million profit — before taxes, maintenance fees and closing costs — an impressive figure made even more impressive considering he owned the house for less than three years and made few changes to the premises. Built in 2019 by a developer on speculation, Bakhtiari picked the hard-edged modern mansion up in early 2020, when it was still brand-new.
$2.3 million is a pretty awesome deal for the All-Pro tackle. He seems to have a knack for real estate when he’s done playing in the NFL. It’s been a pretty good month for Bakhtiari. His injury rehab appears to be near completion after back-and-forth struggles to get on the field since December 2020. Bakhtiari played for the Packers for 35 snaps in the team’s Week 3 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was taken off the team’s injury report on Friday.
