The Milwaukee Bucks will be facing the Orlando Magic on Friday night on the road with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. This season, the Bucks have a 19-16 record and the Magic have a 22-17 record.
As of right now, Milwaukee is the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and Orlando is the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks will have some decisions to make before the NBA trade deadline and one of the Bucks players who could be dealt is Khris Middleton.
CBS Sports Sam Quinn Has Milwaukee Bucks Khris Middleton As a Potential Candidate To Be Traded At the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline
CBS Sports writer Sam Quinn wrote about different NBA players who could be traded at the NBA trade deadline this season. One player who could be traded this year is Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton. Quinn listed Middleton under Tier 9- Matching Salary-Starters On Bad Contracts. Sam Quinn said:
“Milwaukee reportedly looked into Butler, with Middleton as the primary matching salary. He only has one remaining year left on his deal, but he’s barely played over the past two seasons and change, and 33-year-old shot-creating wings are a dangerous proposition. His defense has fallen precipitously, and most of the teams interested in a player of his age already have better creators to rely on. The Bucks would probably like to improve on Middleton, but it won’t be easy.”
It would be hard for the Bucks to trade away Middleton now. He has a player option after the 2024-2025 season. The Bucks need to hope that Middleton does not pick up his player option after the NBA season.
Middleton Benched
On Wednesday, head coach Doc Rivers moved Middleton out of the starting lineup ahead of the San Antonio Spurs matchup. This was the right move for the Bucks moving forward. Khris Middleton has only played in 13 games this season for Milwaukee.
He is averaging 12.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 4.8 APG, along with shooting 43.8% from the field. Middleton is 33 years old. It may be in the best interest of general manager Jon Horst to trade him at the NBA trade deadline for something, but it might be very difficult for another NBA team to trade for him. Their best hope is that this will be his final season with the team.
