On Sunday in Green Bay Randall Cobb was carted off the field during a 27-10 loss to the New York Jets. The emotion on his face as he left the field was a freighting sight for every Green Bay Packers fan. With so many issues at the wide receiver position already does it make sense for the Packers to sign T.Y. Hilton? Nobody seems to be even mentioning his name. At 32 years old, Hilton seems like he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Being a four-time pro bowl selection along with having four straight seasons with 1,000+ yards receiving is no easy feat. But that is exactly what Hilton has accomplished.
T.Y. Hilton has been struggling with injuries over the past few years. He came extremely close to hanging up his cleats for good in 2021 due to a neck injury. Ironically Andrew Luck talked him out of retirement. T.Y. Hilton has proved to be a dependable target when he is able to stay healthy, even leading the league in receiving yards in 2016 with 1,448 yards. Averaging 15.4 yards throughout his 10 year career shows that he has what it takes to a big-play type receiver which is exactly what the Packers need. Lets face it though, Green Bay needs help in just about every department.
Green Bay is Riddled With Injuries
Injuries to Christian Watson, Sammy Watkins, and now Randall Cobb have proved to be devastating for the Packers this season. Allen Lazard has seemed to be the only reliable target for Aaron Rodgers. If Green Bay loses Cobb for the season they need to replace him with another veteran that can mentor this young receiving corps. Would T.Y. Hilton be a good fit in Green Bay? I think he would. Still listed a free-agent, it may be a wise to take a chance on Hilton. At this point what is there to lose?

Trade for D K Metcalf from Seattle. Yeah, it will cost to a few draft picks, but he is a top tier receiver.
