The Green Bay Packers have had an impressive run of five straight seasons with at least one First Team All-Pro. It started in 2020 when Aaron Rodgers, Davante, Adams, David Bakhtiari, Corey Linsley, and Za’Darius Smith were all given the honor. This year, of course, safety Xavier McKinney was the only Packers player given to receive the honor.
Indeed, the last two Packers teams, in 2023 and 2024, have been filled with young talent. There are very few players on the roster with All-Pro ceilings, and the team needs more of them in order to take the next step towards competing for a Super Bowl.
Fortunately, McKinney is out on the recruiting trail, trying to get one former beloved Green Bay star back in the Green and Gold.
Green Bay Packers All-Pro Xavier McKinney Is Recruiting Davante Adams
Over the last few days, it has been increasingly apparent that Adams, who has spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, is very much open to a reunion with Green Bay.
In a recent appearance on the “Up and Adams” podcast, the three-time All-Pro was asked what he thought about the Packers possibly signing wide receiver Tee Higgins, who is expected to be a free agent this year (unless the Cincinnati Bengals use the franchise tag on him).
Davante Adams on the Packers interest in free agent WR Tee Higgins 👀🔊
“Not a bad move… Tee is more than deserving. He can go to ANY team and be a no. 1… I’m excited to see what he does.” @tae15adams @heykayadams @teehiggins5 @packers | #GoPackGo pic.twitter.com/dJ0ahuSRFw

“Not a bad move… Tee is more than deserving. He can go to ANY team and be a no. 1… I’m excited to see what he does,” Adams said.
In a comment on the post that contained the video, McKinney said the following:
Mannnnnnnnnn pull back up ! @tae15adams
— Xavier McKinney (@mckinney15__) January 15, 2025
As one can see, McKinney is telling Adams to “Pull back up.” In other words, “Come back to the Packers!”
Of course, the former Packers wide receiver is still under contract with the Jets. However, New York can save $30 million on their salary cap by releasing Adams. Additionally, the Jets are expected to move on from Rodgers.
Based on these factors, it is probable that Adams will find himself as a free agent for the first time in his career. If that happens, he seems very interested in returning to Green Bay, and the Packers are in desperate need of a top-tier wide receiver.
