The Green Bay Packers are in the middle of a franchise-altering off-season. The Aaron Rodgers trade that was finalized just days before the 2023 NFL Draft ushered in a new era in Green Bay. There are a few wide receivers currently on the roster that will have played with both Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love for a full year by the end of the 2023 season, and one of those wide receivers sent a message to Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers, and the entire NFL.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Sends Message To Aaron Rodgers
According to a report:
The Green Bay Packers made one of the boldest decisions of the offseason when they decided to send former franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.
Whether that was the correct call remains to be seen. One thing, however, is clear: It’s now time to see what longtime backup quarterback Jordan Love can bring to the team.
And while we won’t have the full picture for a couple more months, Green Bay wide receiver Romeo Doubs is already speaking highly of Love. In fact, he says he doesn’t see “a big difference” between the play of Love and the former Super Bowl champion Rodgers.
“No, I think Jordan can do it. I think Jordan is a really good quarterback,” Doubs told Dennis Krause of Spectrum 1. “When you go from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan, Aaron was a really great quarterback, but I believe Jordan can do the same exact thing. So I don’t really see what’s the big difference.”
This isn’t the first time a current player has talked about their confidence in Jordan Love. Aaron Jones previously spoke glowingly about Love and what he thinks he can do in the Packers offense. 2023 will be the first time in 31 years that the Green Bay Packers won’t have someone named Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers under center for week one. Now obviously there will be some difference between having a four-time MVP quarterback and a three-year backup quarterback, however, the confidence in Love is certainly at an all-time high within the organization.
