The Minnesota Vikings had the 11th and 23rd picks in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Minnesota was eyeing a trade-up in the NFL Draft all along for a quarterback. They scouted different quarterbacks throughout the NFL Draft process.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Vikings tried to acquire the fifth overall pick from the Los Angeles Chargers to select wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU. Instead, the Chargers kept the pick and selected offensive lineman Joe Alt fifth overall from Notre Dame in the 2024 NFL Draft. Also, the Minnesota Vikings traded up with the New York Jets from 11 to 10 to select quarterback J.J. McCarthy from Michigan.

Had the Green Bay Packers rival actually done all of that, it would have been interesting to see which team would have acquired wide receiver Justin Jefferson. He is entering the final year of his contract and Jefferson will continue to float around in trade rumors.
