Throughout the course of the NFL offseason, the Green Bay Packers needed to fix its running back room. Green Bay upgraded the running back room by signing running back Josh Jacobs. Jacobs was with the Las Vegas Raiders throughout his NFL career before being with Green Bay.
They also drafted running back Marshawn Lloyd from the USC Trojans in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Lloyd has the potential to make some noise during his rookie season. Some view him as the best running back in this draft class.

A.J. Dillon was re-signed to a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers. Many people thought he was going to leave in the offseason, but Dillon decided to come back to the team instead. Emanuel Wilson will be fourth on the Packers’ depth chart entering camp.
Former Green Bay Packers Running Back Aaron Jones Is Picked As a “Bounce-Back Candidate” By Pro Football Focus For the Minnesota Vikings

When the Green Bay Packers signed Josh Jacobs during the free agency period, some people thought it was going to be possible that there would be a Jacobs and Aaron Jones tandem in 2024. Instead, the Packers front office had other ideas and released Jones, who had one year remaining on his contract.
Jones is 29 years old and decided to sign with the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal in the offseason. He will be the featured back in Minnesota’s offense. It will be interesting to see whether or not Aaron Jones will remain healthy for the 2024 season.

Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus has Aaron Jones as the “bounce-back candidate” for the Minnesota Vikings this season. Locker said about Jones:
“Jones mustered 889 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns last year, primarily because he missed six games with hamstring and knee injuries. At the same time, his numbers after contact and in receiving efficiency were largely on par with the past few years, where he was one of the top backfield weapons in football. Plus, Jones earned four straight games with a grade above 80.0 as the season wound down, presumably as he got healthier.
If he can avoid more injuries, Jones could shoulder an even higher carry proportion in his first year in Minnesota, particularly because there aren’t exactly running backs equivalent to A.J. Dillon (especially a few years ago) behind him. Jones should prove key in helping either Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy, given Kevin O’Connell’s affinity for play action.”
In the last five games for the Green Bay Packers, he rushed for over 100 years in each game and all three of his touchdowns came in the Wild Card Game against the Dallas Cowboys. Aaron Jones was on fire at the end of the season. The Minnesota Vikings are hoping that is what they are getting from him and Green Bay Packers fans are hoping it doesn’t happen against them.
