After pulling off a Thanksgiving win over the Miami Dolphins via a 30-17 score, the Green Bay Packers have extended their undefeated streak to three games.
They have also won seven of their last eight games. Yet, Jordan Love and company are just third in the standings in their division, thanks to the incredible season the Detroit Lions are having and the surprising campaign of the Minnesota Vikings.
Things would have been so much different for the Packers if they were playing in another division, as pointed out by Field Yates of ESPN.
The 9-3 Packers would be in first place in the NFC South by 3 games, in the NFC West by 2 games and in the AFC South by 1.5 games.
They are third in the NFC North. Loaded division.

The Green Bay Packers still have a chance to shock the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions

Through 14 weeks of football, the Packers are 9-3, while the Lions are leading the division with an 11-1 record and the Vikings second in the NFC North with a 10-2 slate. Green Bay lost to Minnesota back in Week 4 but that was when Love had just returned from an injury he suffered in Brazil during a Week 1 game versus the Philadelphia Eagles. In Week 9, Green Bay lost too to the Detroit Lions, 24-14.
The good news for the Packers is that they are still in a position to make the NFL playoffs, as they are currently sixth overall in the NFC. Plus, the Packers can help their chances of pulling the rugs under the Lions and the Vikings by winning, ideally, all of their remaining four games in the 2024 NFL regular season, including Week 14’s meeting with Detroit and Week 17’s rematch against Minnesota.
