The Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts will be going into 2024 seasons with fairly high expectations.
Of course, the Packers are looking to build on their 2023 campaign that saw them fall just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game.
The Indianapolis Colts are getting back Anthony Richardson at quarterback after an injury ended his season early. Richardson gives the entire franchise hope they could be competitive in the very near future.
However, one report surfacing between these two teams seems to be picking up steam.
Could The Green Bay Packers And Indianapolis Colts Be In Businesses?

According to Ryan Heckman of FanSided:
Green Bay could afford one more rotational pass rusher if the price was right. Rashan Gary and Preston Smith are the current starters, and the Packers should feel great about the two of them. The team even has a future starter in 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness, so the depth at the top is strong.
But, giving this team a fourth, solid pass rusher could do wonders for the Packers if they are to make a playoff run yet again in 2024. Looking at one of the Indianapolis Colts’ pass rushers is a realistic option, because that room has gotten very crowded.
The Colts were toward the top of the league in sacks last year, but didn’t have a prolific, top-tier name to boot. As a team, they simply got to the quarterback. But, in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Indy went with UCLA’s Laiatu Latu, giving them a potential upper-echelon type of player at the position.
Indianapolis still has Kwity Paye, Samson Ebukam, Tyquan Lewis, and Dayo Odeyingbo as capable rotational rushers. Maybe, the Colts try to move Lewis, who could have the higher return of the last two listed above.
Pay and Ebukam aren’t going anywhere, but Lewis could be afforded at the right price. Last year in playing 37 percent of snaps, Lewis finished with 4.0 sacks, a career-high nine tackles for loss and another career-high, 13 quarterback hits.
Would The Packers Add A Pass Rusher To Their Defense?

At the edge rusher position, the Packers have Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness long-term. As a result of a knee injury against Dallas, Kingsley Enagbare’s availability is uncertain. It should be noted that he looks great (and healthy) so far in OTAs and Training Camp.
It is possible that Preston Smith is playing his last season with the team. There is a lot of upside to Brenton Cox, but he is still an unknown.
Historically, this position has been heavily rotated each week, with a minimum of four players getting snaps.
When the Packers play their base 4-3 defense, players like Colby Wooden, Karl Brooks, or even Kenny Clark provide them with additional options at defensive end besides the pass rushers mentioned above.
If the Packers decide to add to their edge position, it would likely come from an injury.
