Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft emerged into to the top tight end on the roster during the 2024 NFL season after Luke Musgrave injured himself during Week 5. Kraft was also one of the top receiving targets for quarterback Jordan Love.

The former South Dakota State Jackrabbits tight end caught 50 passes for 707 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 14.1 yards per reception. Kraft also was targeted 70 times. During the owner’s meetings, head coach Matt LaFleur talked about the star tight end needing to calm down a little bit.
Green Bay Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Responds To Coaches’ Comments

The star tight end is looking to be more of a leader entering his third season with the Packers. Kraft interviewed with Wes Hodkiewicz of packers.com about what LaFleur said about him during the owners’ meetings and also being a leader during the 2025 NFL season. Kraft said,
“I don’t ignore it. I listen to what I need to hear. He might tell me to play a little bit more under control. For me, that just means slow down a little bit.”
“Kraft worked hard for that production, averaging 9.1 yards after the catch per reception. According to TruMedia, that was the second-best single-season mark by an NFL tight end dating back to 2000 behind only Kittle (9.9) in 2018.”
Kraft knows there have been times that he has been more aggressive than he needs to be. The former Jackrabbits tight end also said,
“There’s instances where I’m on the front side of plays and I’m too aggressive. But (LaFleur) is never gonna question my heart and my physicality. He just wants me to just chill out a little bit mainly just for me, so I can play the game longer.”
Not only is Kraft a good receiving tight end, but he is also an excellent blocking tight end who loves to play with an edge. There is a chance that he could be the number one receiving option for Green Bay during the 2025 NFL season. The Packers will need him to be physical on the football field and play with an edge, but LaFleur does not want him to overdo it also.
