The Green Bay Packers are now 8-3 on the season after defeating the depleted San Francisco 49ers by the score of 38-10 on Sunday afternoon. Starting quarterback Jordan Love threw two touchdowns and no interceptions in what was his first game of the season without a turnover. Running back Josh Jacobs rushed 26 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first NFL running back to rush for 100 yards against the 49ers since Aaron Jones did so in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs last year.
The Packers will not have much of a turnround before their next game as they take on Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day. Even though they are just 5-6, the Dolphins have won three games in a row having defeated the New England Patriots 34-15 today.
And Tagovailoa cannot wait.
Miami Dolphins Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa Sounds Off on Upcoming Game vs the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving
A big reason why the Dolphins are currently below .500 is that Tagovailoa missed several weeks earlier this season with yet another concussion. In his absence, the Dolphins tried Skyler Thompson, Tyler Huntley, and former Packers backup Tim Boyle. Miami won just one game in his absence.
Many fans and NFL analysts wrote the Dolphins off early while their star quarterback was out. Since he came back, though, they are 3-2 and their two losses were by a combined four points.
Indeed, Miami is rolling and Tagovailoa is looking forward to trying to prove their doubters wrong against the Packers.
According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Dolphins quarterback said:
“Yeah, I mean I’m excited to kill narratives, so let’s go. Bring it on.
“It’s always great to enjoy the win. But there were some things second half-wise that we knew we could have capitalized on that we didn’t, things we said we wanted to do coming out in the second half that we didn’t and those can be frustrating.
“But I would say we’re still below the .500 threshold and it’s a long way to where we want to get to. We’ll enjoy this win, but this next one is going to be big for us, and we’re excited to go down to Green Bay and show everybody on primetime what we can do.”
Tagovailoa has every right to feel confident. He is coming off a game in which he threw four touchdown passes and no interceptions.
The last time he played the Packers, though, things did not go as well for the Dolphins quarterback. The two teams met on Christmas Day in 2022 and Tagovailoa threw three interceptions in a 26-20 Green Bay win.
