A former Green Bay Packers trade target has been moved to the New York Giants
As the NFL world continues to navigate through free agency, a former Green Bay Packers trade target was finally dealt in a surprising deal on Tuesday.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday that the Las Vegas Raiders have traded tight end Darren Waller to the New York Giants. The Raiders will receive a third-round pick (No. 100 overall) back in the deal from the Giants. That third-round pick is the pick the Giants acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in the Kadarius Toney trade.
So the #Giants traded a third-round compensatory pick that they received in the Kadarius Toney trade (No. 100 overall) and land the big-time weapon they coveted for newly extended QB Daniel Jones: It's Darren Waller. https://t.co/pGSnt1Nf5F

This is significant for the Packers because last season it was rumored that Green Bay offered a second-round pick for Waller. However, the Raiders turned it down and opted to roll with the tight end who was injured as they were still in playoff contention.
For a team that could use an upgrade at tight end, I have to wonder if the Packers did put in an offer this offseason to try and land him.
