Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to be on The Pat McAfee Show today. Many are wondering if he will take this opportunity to announce to the world what he will do. Will he retire? Will he accept a trade to the New York Jets? What is going to happen?
Well, according to one report from Mike Florio with Pro Football Talk, we might have to wait until the NFL Draft for a conclusion to this saga.
The Green Bay Packers Will Get What They Want

According to Florio:
“Per a league source, the Packers are willing to wait until the draft to trade Rodgers, if that’s what it takes to get what they want.
“With Rodgers habitually absent from the early phases of the offseason program, it’s not as if he’ll be in the building between now and April 27. And with a $58.3 million option bonus that has a lengthy exercise period (the Packers can pick it up at any point from tomorrow until Week One), Rodgers has a very manageable cap number into September.
“Basically, they get the benefit of the multi-year proration without having to pay the $58.3 million.
“So the Packers can just wait.”
Obviously, that is not the scenario that any Packers fan would like to see come to fruition. Indeed, many are simply ready to be done with the entire situation. That being said, Rodgers could agree to be traded; but that does not mean the Packers will trade him right away. If Rodgers has wasted all this time making a decision, the Packers can drag out the process longer to make sure they get a maximum return.
No one outside of 1265 Lombardi Avenue wants to keep waiting, though.
