The Green Bay Packers are doing their due diligence ahead of the 2023 NFL draft. One of the positions that the Packers will likely target is tight end. There is a massive hole at the position and the Packers will benefit from a deep tight end class. The Packers are hosting ultra-athletic tight end Dalton Kincaid for a visit.

Green Bay picks 15. Kincaid – a 1st-Team All Pac-12 performer – is a projected 1st-round pick as well.

Green Bay Packers Hosting Dalton Kincaid
Kincaid is one of the most athletic tight ends in the class. He is a fluid route runner who can create mismatches against linebackers who may not be as good in coverage. Kincaid has great hands and can catch the contested 50/50 balls. He does lack elite blocking skills but he is not a zero when asked to block. Most scouts agree that he may need a little bit of work but should blossom into a solid player for any team. This is one of many tight ends that the Packers have been doing their homework on.

What Direction Will They Go?
Likely, the Packers will have their choice of tight end at pick number 15. This does not mean they will necessarily pick a tight end there as the class is deep and mid-round value is there. Sam LaPorta and Zack Kuntz are two names that might be available in later rounds and have a high upside. The team could also trade back and still have their choice of Kincaid or Michael Mayer. It would not shock me if the Packers double-dipped and took two prospects hoping to hit on at least one.
Dalton Kincaid definitely fits the profile of a player that GM Brian Gutekunst likes. He tends to favor athletic players hoping that their athleticism covers some of their weaknesses. The NFL draft will have no shortage of intrigue and it will be interesting to see what direction the Green Bay Packers decide to go.
