The Green Bay Packers have made plenty of headlines since the 2023 NFL Draft due to their two new young tight ends: Luke Musgrave and Tyler Kraft. Of course, their need at tight end came after Robert Tonyan signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bears. Marcedes Lewis will not be back as the team has committed to a youth movement led by 2020 first round draft pick Jordan Love at quarterback. Of course, tight end was not always such a dire need for the team. Going into last season, they had Tonyan, Lewis, Josiah Deguara, and Tyler Davis along with several young prospects.
One of these, Alize Mack was once a promising prospect that ended up missing the entire season due to injury. After his injury-shortened season, Mack played for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL. He used his play in that league to earn a tryout with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. After his tryout, the Titans decided to sign him to a contract.

Former Green Bay Packers Tight End Alize Mack Signs with the Tennessee Titans
Alize Mack played his college ball at Notre Dame where he had 68 receptions for 716 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons. In 2019, he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. He did not make the team, but was signed to their practice squad. He did not last long there, though, as he was released on September 20 of that season.
He was not on the market long, though. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed him on September 25, but released him on October 2. The Kansas City Chiefs then picked him up for their practice squad for the rest of the season and signed him to a futures contract. However, he was released on May 4, 2020. He did not play for any team in 2020.
In 2021, he spent some time with the Detroit Lions practice squad, but did not last the full season. The next year, 2022, he signed with the Packers, but was injured during training camp. He was placed on injured reserve and then released.
This past XFL season, Mack had 28 receptions for 230 yards and a touchdown. Most importantly, he was healthy all season and played in all ten games.
