Perhaps lost in all the talk about Jordan Love’s injury is another health concern that a Green Bay Packers starter suffered in Week 1’s game in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles. Packers center Josh Myers also dealt with a lower-body trouble in the Eagles game, though, it was much less serious than what Love suffered late in the contest.
Via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“I was cramping super bad,” Myers said. “My legs, they were locked out. … I took a set on that play and just fell over basically. I couldn’t go anymore. I was cramping really bad for like the entire second half of the game.
Josh Myers, Green Bay Packers looking to rally behind Malik Willis amid Jordan Love’s injury
While Love is not expected to play in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field, Myers, who missed the final two plays against the Eagles, should be fine for this coming Sunday’s game.
“I got a couple IV bags,” said Myers. “I’m all right now.”
Although Love’s injury is not season-ending, Myers will most likely snap the ball to a different quarterback in Week 2, with Malik Willis expected to start. Willis will need all the help he can get. He just came into Green Bay via a trade from the Tennessee Titans prior to Week 1.
With no full training camp in the offseason with the Packers and minimal experience in the NFL, Willis, who made just three starts for the Titans in the 2023 NFL regular season, will be put to the test early in the season, while Love recuperates from his injury.
