The Green Bay Packers may have to start focusing on the 2024 season. Sitting at 3-6 the Packers are in a “win now” mode every single week if they want to make an improbable playoff run. That being said, the team hasn’t been able to put out “playoff caliber football” on a consistent basis all season long.
It is possible the Packers enter the 2024 off-season with more questions than answers. With that being said, there have been rumors slowly growing regarding a veteran with 145 career starts joining the team.
Surprisingly, The Green Bay Packers Are Slowly Being Linked To Veteran Quarterback Kirk Cousins

Wm. Glasheen USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin
Dan Graziano, an ESPN NFL analyst, believes the Packers are a sleeper team that could make a shocking move: signing Kirk Cousins, the quarterback from the Vikings, who is set to become a free agent next summer:
“My sleeper is Green Bay. Jordan Love doesn’t look like the answer, and while the Packers are as patient as any team in the league, they’re also used to winning. Cousins knows the Packers’ offense because it’s a derivative of Kyle Shanahan’s scheme from their time together in Washington, and Cousins and Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur could work well together.
I recognize this is out of left field and completely different from any way the Packers usually operate. But Love’s “extension” includes a palatable $5.5 million in guaranteed salary in 2024 and nothing thereafter. If they get to the end of this season and decide Love isn’t the guy moving forward, the Packers might not feel like drafting another guy and waiting for him to develop. And even if they do that, Cousins could be the solution in the meantime for a team with a promising young wide receiver group.”
Would The Packers Actually Move On From Jordan Love?

The answer is most likely no. Regardless of what the Packers’ record is at the end of the season, I would be shocked if they gave up on Jordan Love after one year. During the 25-year-old quarterback’s time on the team, the coaching staff has watched him grow. The team was not expecting a Super Bowl victory in his first year, they just wanted enough to commit to at least one more year.
Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to a Super Bowl three years after taking over the starting job. It is reasonable to assume they will give Love at least that long to prove he is capable of being “the guy” in Green Bay. Moreover, the Packers added many weapons around Love that are approximately his age. It is their hope that all of these weapons will continue to grow along with Love in the coming years. One year is not enough time to give up on that growth.
