The Green Bay Packers already have a preseason game in the books, defeating the Cleveland Browns 23-10 on Saturday. Only two preseason games remain until the regular season begins. Green Bay will travel to Brazil to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday September 6. Green Bay Packers fans are hoping for a successful season as this is seen as a team that should make the playoffs this year. Over the course of this week, I will predict every game on the Green Bay Packers schedule. Here are my predictions for the first four games.
Green Bay Packers Schedule Prediction: Week 1- Philadelphia Eagles (Brazil)
The Green Bay Packers will take part in the first ever NFL game to be played in Brazil. The good news is the Packers are the road team in this game so a home game is not taken away from them.
The Eagles ended last season really poorly and it resulted in a Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Nick Sirianni did not get fired, but they do have a new offensive coordinator with Kellen Moore.
I like the Eagles draft process over the last few years and they have players on both sides of the ball. Green Bay will have to keep Jalen Hurts in the pocket and keep players like A.J. Brown and Saquon Barkley. It could be a high scoring game, but I think the Green Bay Packers win this opening game.
Week 2- Indianapolis Colts
The Green Bay Packers will open their home season in a noon kickoff against Indianapolis. The Colts have a very athletic quarterback in Anthony Richardson. He will hurt any defense outside the pocket if they let him escape. Jonathan Taylor is an excellent back along with a good defense.
There is still not a big sample size on Richardson because of only four games last year before a season ending shoulder injury. I like what he brings long-term, but the Packers should win this game by at least seven points.
Week 3: At Tennessee Titans
Like Richardson, there is still a small sample size on Titans quarterback Will Levis. On the other hand, Tennessee gave Levis a ton of options with running back Tony Pollard and receivers, Tyler Boyd, DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, and Treylon Burks.
This will be a big challenge on the road for the Green Bay Packers, There will likely be a ton of Packers fans in Nashville, but I think this receiving group and Pollard could give Jeff Hafley and this defense some headaches. It will be close, but I think Green Bay loses this one.
Week 4: Minnesota Vikings
Former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will not have to wait long before he makes his return to Lambeau Field. Receivers Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and tight end TJ Hockenson will make life tough for the Green Bay defense too.
The biggest thing about this game is will Sam Darnold still be the quarterback or will Kevin O’Connell switch to rookie first round pick J.J. McCarthy. Green Bay should not be afraid of Darnold or they will get a very inexperienced McCarthy. If this game was later in the year, I think it could be a close game. I will take the Packers in this one because of the big advantage at quarterback.
