The Green Bay Packers will have many different position battles throughout the summer leading up to the 2024 NFL season. One of the biggest competitions for the Packers throughout the summer will be who will win the kicking job. They have three different kickers throughout OTAs and it will most likely continue heading into training camp.
Some other positions and starting jobs are also sealed for the 2024 NFL season. Another job battle to watch for with the Green Bay Packers will be who will be the backup running back behind Josh Jacobs. Is it going to be rookie Marshawn Lloyd or is it going to be the veteran A.J. Dillon?

Time will tell and those won’t be the only two jobs to watch for. Left tackle is another spot to watch for in training camp between rookie Jordan Morgan and Rasheed Walker, but there is another controversy that might be brewing.
The Green Bay Packers Have a Backup Quarterback Controversy Between Michael Pratt and Sean Clifford

There is no controversy for the Green Bay Packers about who will be the starting quarterback in 2024. That belongs to Jordan Love and he is hoping he will get a contract extension before the 2024 season begins. The battle to watch for this training camp and also for the rest of the OTAs is the backup quarterback battle.
Sean Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt will battle it out. Clifford was the backup quarterback a season ago for Jordan Love. Pratt was a seventh-round pick out of Tulane. It was a surprise that he slipped to the seventh round in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ryan Heckman of lombardiavenue.com thinks that Sean Clifford’s backup quarterback spot may not be safe and Michael Pratt could win the job. He said:
“The Packers might have … a quarterback controversy?
Jordan Love’s job is obviously safe, but the backup role is going to be one to watch this summer. The Packers somehow landed Tulane’s Michael Pratt in the seventh round of this year’s draft. There were several outlets and experts who had mocked Pratt in the fourth or fifth round. He was viewed as a developmental guy that might be able to morph into a starter within a few years.
Yet, he fell to the seventh, which was tremendous value for Green Bay. Sean Clifford cost a higher pick in last year’s draft (fifth round) but why would the Packers draft another quarterback if they weren’t looking to upgrade the backup position?”
Pratt as a senior last season with the Tulane Wave completed 65.4% of his passes for 2,406 yards, 22 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also rushed for 286 yards on 98 carries and five touchdowns. He averaged 2.9 yards per carry with the Tulane Wave. Michael Pratt is only 22 years old and Sean Clifford is 25 years old and will turn 26 on July 14.

Michael Pratt seems to have more upside than Sean Clifford does at this point. They both will get a fair chance to be the Green Bay Packers backup quarterback for the 2024 season.
