The Green Bay Packers will have the 25th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. Green Bay needs to fix the defensive side of the ball and one of the needs they will have is the safety position. Darnell Savage and Jonathan Owens are free agents and it is possible both of them are not brought back.

Over the last couple of seasons, general manager Brian Gutekunst has drafted well. Green Bay will also have a new defensive coordinator next season. Who are some of the safeties that the Green Bay Packers can select with the 25th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft?

The Most Ideal Selection For the Green Bay Packers With the 25th Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft Would Be Tyler Nubin From Minnesota

    Green Bay PackersNFL Draft
Nov 18, 2023; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord (6) shakes hands with Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis (8) and defensive back Tyler Nubin (27) following the NCAA football game at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State won 37-3.

Nubin is the top-ranked safety in the 2024 NFL Draft. He is 6’2″, weighs 210 lbs, and is ready to be a starter right away in the NFL. Tyler Nubin played for five seasons with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He recorded 53 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, five interceptions, and four pass deflections.

Nubin is projected to be a late first-round pick and this would be very good value for the Green Bay Packers to draft him. According to nfldraftbuzz.com, the strengths for Nubin are as follows:

“Boasts a strong, proportional frame ideal for the safety role, complemented by a physical playstyle that doesn’t shy away from contact. Displays exceptional explosiveness and closing speed, crucial for downhill support and disrupting passing lanes.”

As for the weaknesses they are:

“Lacks elite explosiveness and long speed, which can limit range and recovery speed in certain situations. Shows less fluidity and speed in transitions due to a high-hipped frame, which can challenge him in space against agile receivers.”

    Kamren Kinchens, Miami (FL)

Kinches is the second-ranked safety in the 2024 NFL Draft. He is 5’11” and weighs 206 lbs. Kamren Kinchens played three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes. Last season in college football, he recorded 59 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, five interceptions, one defensive touchdown, and five pass deflections.

If the Green Bay Packers don’t take a safety in the first round, it is very possible they can find him early in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He is a very athletic safety and can also be a game-changer for an NFL franchise.

    Calen Bullock, USC

    Green Bay PackersNFL Draft
Nov 18, 2023; Los Angeles, California, USA; UCLA Bruins tight end Hudson Habermehl (81) scores a touchdown against USC Trojans safety Calen Bullock (7) during the fourth quarter at United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Mandatory Credit: Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports

Calen Bullock is 6’3″ and weighs 190 lbs. Bullock also played three years in college with the USC Trojans. Last season with the Trojans, he recorded 61 total tackles, two interceptions, one defensive touchdown, and seven pass deflections.

Bullock knows how to pinpoint the football and make plays on the back end. He played in a Pac-12 Conference with a bunch of elite offenses. The Green Bay Packers would be better off taking him in the second round and not the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
