The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers could be heading toward a massive trade. Numerous reports have indicated that the Green Bay Packers are ready to move on from Aaron Rodgers if he is content with being traded to the New York Jets. Mark Murphy was even recently quoted saying “the team will honor a trade request from Aaron Rodgers if he wants it.” While the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and the rest of the NFL await Rodgers’ decision, reports are surfacing that a former Packers running back could follow Rodgers to New York.
Running Back Jamaal Williams Could Follow Aaron Rodgers To New York

According to Tyler Dunne:
Free agency nugget to pass along. There’s mutual interest in Jamaal Williams returning to Detroit, but a source told me today that Buffalo, Cincinnati and the New York Jets are all very interested in the running back. Williams led the NFL with 17 rushing TDs last year.
Jamaal Williams spent the first four seasons of his career (2017-2020) playing for the Green Bay Packers. One year after the Packers drafted RB AJ Dillon, the Packers decided to release Williams. Jamaal Williams then signed with the Detroit Lions for the 2021-2022 seasons. 2022 was a record breaking season for the veteran running back. He finished with a career-best 1,066 rush yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 2022.
The New York Jets will reportedly not tender the contract of running back James Robinson this offseason. The former Jacksonville Jaguars running back was set to be a restricted free agent, but the Jets will simply let him walk as opposed to paying the low tender of $2.6 million. This currently leaves the Jets with Breece Hall as their main running back heading into 2023. Signing a veteran like Jamaal Williams, who is familiar with the four-time MVP quarterback they are trying to trade for, would be a big boost for their offense.
