The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets got the deal done. For the majority of the off-season, headlines have been captivated by the pending Aaron Rodgers trade. According to multiple reports, a number of other teams had officially reached out about possibly acquiring Aaron Rodgers.
Whether it was news of other teams reaching out, or the NFL Draft coming up, the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers re-opened trade talks. Yesterday they got the deal done. Upon the trade getting done, Aaron Jones took to social media to make an announcment.
Aaron Jones Says Goodbye To Aaron Rodgers After Being Traded To New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers took to Instagram to announce “One of the best humans I’ve ever played with,” referring to Aaron Jones. Aaron Jones responded with:
Aaron Rodgers idk where I’d be in my career without you! Thank you for calling those louts or signaling to the sideline I want 33 in my first two years. You gave me an opportunity and I’m forever grateful and it was an honor to go to battle with you.

Aaron Jones is one of three players in NFL history to combine 5,000-plus yards rushing, 60-plus touchdowns from scrimmage while averaging at least five yards per carry over their first six NFL seasons. Last season, Jones rushed for a career high 1,121 yards on 213 carries and caught 59 passes for 395 yards. He also scored seven touchdowns.
Jones was also the Packers’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which recognizes players for community service off the field as well as achievements on the field. He has quickly become one of the most beloved Packers on the team.
