Since it was confirmed that Christian Watson is out indefinitely due to a torn ACL, the Green Bay Packers have been pegged as a top landing spot for some of the top wide receivers in the league.

Green Bay was previously linked to Tee Higgins and a potential reunion with Davante Adams, but the team could also look at the NFC West for reinforcements. FanSided’s Rucker Haringey recently suggested the Green Bay Packers go after Deebo Samuel in exchange for their second-round pick in this summer’s NFL Draft.
“The 49ers would love to get a first in return for their talented wideout, but that’s too high of a price for the Packers to pay after a down year from Samuel — especially entering the final year of his contract. A second-round pick would represent a good return for San Francisco and a reasonable gamble for Green Bay,” Haringey wrote in his column.

“Samuel could be the perfect chess piece for head coach Matt LaFleur, which makes this pick a price well worth paying. Green Bay has shown the ability to get the ball to their wideouts’ hands in a variety of ways. They won’t give Samuel as many rushing attempts as he did during his prime with the Niners, but that added versatility could make him even more valuable for the Packers,” he added.
Is Deebo Samuel the WR1 the Green Bay Packers need?
The Green Bay Packers need all the help they need at the wide receiver position, and adding Deebo Samuel helps. However, he may not be the WR1 the team needs.

Samuel’s production has regressed since his breakout campaign in 2021, where he notched 1,405 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 16 regular season games and earned his only Pro Bowl selection to date.
This past season, the 29-year-old South Carolina product notched 670 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 15 regular season games. Samuel recently made his trade request out of San Francisco.
