After Jordan Love showed that he’s a worthy successor to Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers are actively gunning for a deep playoff run. The top priority for the front office is now supplying Love with the best weapons to help him succeed in the regular season and the playoffs.
With this in mind, the rookies are expected to contribute to the team’s efforts from Day 1. The pressure will be immense, but there’s no better way for them to develop and thrive than with pressure on their shoulders.
With that being said, one analyst believes that the rookie should be able to step up to the plate and make significant contributions to the team’s postseason hopes.
Analyst believes the Green Bay Packers’ rookies will play a key part in the team’s 2024 campaign
Acme Packing Company’s Justis Mosqueda wrote a detailed piece on what Green Bay Packers fans can expect from their rookies. He thinks that their nine rooks will play a role in the squad’s success in the NFC North and their Super Bowl chase.
A lot will be expected out of MarShawn Lloyd. While the rookie running back won’t likely play in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles due to injury, he’s expected to get significant reps due to AJ Dillon’s injury:
With Dillon out, third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd and second-year back Emanuel Wilson will compete for touches behind Jacobs. Currently, Lloyd is dealing with a hamstring injury, which led to him being the only player who was left off the field on Wednesday’s practice. We’ll just have to see how long it takes Lloyd to return to the field.
Jordan Morgan is expected to make strides throughout the season after winning the starting right guard job in camp, but he’ll likely share reps with Sean Rhyan to ease the pressure on him.
The rookies are expected to make a significant impact at safety:
Not only is second-round pick Javon Bullard expected to start next to Xavier McKinney, but he also is the team’s primary nickelback replacement for Keisean Nixon should Nixon ever go down. Bullard battled with fourth-round pick Evan Williams and 2023 draft pick Anthony Johnson Jr. for the job. Williams did well enough that Johnson was let go, and picked up off of waivers by the New York Giants, so that the squad could keep special teams ace Zayne Anderson.
This year’s rookies for the Green Bay Packers have a lot expected out of them, but they’re more than up to take on the challenge. Fans hope that they’ll be able to live up to expectations and a serious run for the Lombardi.
