The Green Bay Packers are already in vacation mode, but there really is no such thing as rest for an NFL front office. The Packers have homework to do in the offseason following their elimination from Super Bowl 59 contention, among which is an assignment to upgrade Jordan Love’s weapons downfield.
Ben Solak of ESPN recently shared a big prediction for the Packers in the offseason, mentioning that Green Bay can be expected to take aim at a potential trade for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, with Romeo Doubs as a possible part of a package.
Expect them to be in the Tee Higgins hunt, but if getting him gets too expensive for them, they could package someone like Romeo Doubs — who will be in the final year of his rookie deal in 2025 — to grab a frustrated star from another team. Garrett Wilson? DK Metcalf? I’d bet on the latter.
Green Bay Packers to go after Wilson?
Wilson is easily one of the most intriguing talents in the league. New York has been a disappointment in the 2024 NFL season, as even with Aaron Rodgers quarterbacking the team, the Jets managed to win just five games. But in a better team environment, Wilson could pop off. He had 1,104 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2024 despite all the issues in New York on and off the field.
It is also worth noting that Wilson has one more guaranteed year left on his deal before a potential club option kicks in for the 2026 NFL season.
