The Green Bay Packers will never use injuries as an excuse for losing a game. Such was the case in their 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions last Thursday night. Despite missing several of their key contributors, the Packers put themselves in a position to win the game. Unfortunately, they failed to play a clean game and made costly mistakes, which led to their loss.
Green Bay’s loss to Detroit also all-but eliminated them from winning the NFC North this year. Even if the Packers win all of their remaining games, they will need the Lions to lose all four of their remaining games (and the Minnesota Vikings to lose three of theirs) in order to retake the North.
With the probability of that happening being very low, Green Bay can only focus on winning as many games as they can in order to give themselves their best possible seed in the NFL Playoffs.
Fortunately, it looks like they are getting some key players back for this important stretch.
Green Bay Packers Stars Romeo Doubs and Jaire Alexander Were Full Participants in Practice on Wednesday
Green Bay’s late season push for the NFL Playoffs starts on Sunday night when they travel out west to take on the 8-5 Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are fighting for position in the NFC, with the Seahawks clinging to a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Rams in their division.
Fortunately for the Packers, Jaire Alexander and Romeo Doubs appear to be on pace to play for the first time in weeks:
Matt LaFleur says Romeo Doubs practiced in full today.
“We’re making progress but he’s still in the protocol.”
Jaire Alexander was a full participant today, per LaFleur.#Packers

Alexander, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, tore his PCL in Green Bay’s Week eight win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He attempted to play in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, but had to pulled from that game because of his injury.
Alexander has missed Green Bay’s last three games.
Wide receiver Romeo Doubs suffered a concussion in the Packers’ Week 13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers and has not played since.
Heading into their loss against the Lions, both players were limited participants in practice. As Wes Hodkiewicz notes above, though, both were full participants in practice on Wednesday.
While this does not guarantee that they will definitely play on Sunday, it is a major step forward from where they were.
