The Green Bay Packers have a chance to provide a massive shakeup to the roster this offseason through the trade market. It will be interesting to see how they will do it.
One position that could have some changes next season to the team is the wide receiver position. Outside of Jayden Reed, there is a chance that the Green Bay Packers wide receiver core could have some changes. Christian Watson could miss the entire season with a torn ACL and Romeo Doubs could be part of a trade to another team.
ESPN’s Benjamin Solak Thinks That the Green Bay Packers Could Be In the Market To Trade For Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver D.K. Metcalf
Metcalf will be entering the final year of his contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He was a second-round selection from Ole Miss in the 2019 NFL Draft. D.K. Metcalf is 27 years old.
ESPN’s Benjamin Solak made some predictions about the Green Bay Packers’ plans for the wide receiver position this offseason. He said:
“While I love the versatility of the Packers’ wide receiver room (when it is healthy), they could use a clear WR1 who can take over games with consistent eight-plus-target outings. Expect them to be in the Tee Higgins hunt, but if getting him gets too expensive for them, they could package someone like Romeo Doubs — who will be in the final year of his rookie deal in 2025 — to grab a frustrated star from another team. Garrett Wilson? DK Metcalf? I’d bet on the latter.”
Metcalf this past season with the Seattle Seahawks caught 66 passes for 992 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 15.0 yards per catch. D.K. Metcalf would no doubt be the number one wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers if he was with the team for the 2025 NFL season.
Romeo Doubs Trade Bait
There is a chance that Romeo Doubs will be traded to another team before the 2025 NFL season. For the Packers to acquire wide receiver talent, they are going to have to give up someone to get a star. Romeo Doubs could be that player who is on the move.
There is no doubt that other teams will call Green Bay about Doubs this offseason. Last season with the Packers, he caught 46 passes for 601 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 13.1 yards per catch. Romeo Doubs was targeted 72 times this season.
