The Green Bay Packers may be looking to the future with Jordan Love, but that doesn’t mean they lost the affection they have built and maintained for Aaron Rodgers.
While their outstanding decades-long partnership only resulted in one Super Bowl ring, it doesn’t take away from the years of exciting football they enjoyed with him taking charge of the offense from under center. Fans still follow him on his journey with the New York Jets, and his public relationship with Love is friendly.
Packers fans who keep up with their former QB’s life away from Lambeau Field may find him struggling to come to terms with his new team. However, he did something that would remind fans of his leadership during the time he was still proudly donning the Green Bay green.
Aaron Rodgers’ message to Jets fans reminds Green Bay Packers fans of his leadership qualities
After the Jets’ disastrous 32-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, it’s easy to understand why some Jets fans are already voicing their frustrations with their team.
However, Rodgers calmed them down in such a way that would remind Packers fans of an iconic statement he made in 2014.
Per ESPN’s Rich Cimini:
“I think we always have to stay relaxed,” he said. “It’s a long season. I think, at times, people think the season is like you’re out in the prairie or the desert and you’re moving around trying to find water, but it’s more like a nice, slow Bolero, where we’re just swaying with the music and reacting to whatever comes to us and through us, just trying to not get too high with the highs or too low with the lows.”
Packers fans would remember Rodgers talking to a disgruntled fan in 2014 after the team had a 1-2 record after three weeks. While they failed to make the Super Bowl that year, they did finish with a 12-4 record. Rodgers threw for 4381 yards and 38 TDs that season.
The season is still long, and the Jets may eventually find their form. Packers fans will be hopeful that their former star man will find his success in the Big Apple reminiscent of his time in Wisconsin.
